SgtMarty KLR650 Tech Days

Not all the Tech Day reports are here (missing some of the earlier ones), and some have no photos, but these are most of the post-Tech Day reports that I made at KLR650.net and ones that I have now authored here.  I did not import the comments and photos from other people on the forums, since those weren't my original content.  There is a link at the bottom of most reports to the entire original forum threads on KLR650.net and/or ADVrider.com if you want to see all the comments and the other photos.

Sept 3, 2005     One of my first tech days

August 12, 2006     Mostly snap shots, not so much tech shots

September 16, 2006     A typical early tech day

June 16, 2007   (no photos)  A mini-tech day

August 5, 2007   A tech day with no drama... aside from Gil's bike that had lots of issues

October 7, 2007  (no photos)  A small turnout, bad weather

April 6, 2008  A big turnout, over 30 bikes

(Missing the later tech day report in 2008, over 50 riders showed up)

(I was riding around South America most of 2009, so no tech days)

April 24, 2010  Another smaller turnout since the weather was supposed to be bad

May 8, 2010  Large turnout, better weather

September 18th and 19th, 2010, a tech weekend  Over 30 people for both days

May 7, 2011  Nice turnout, and one 685cc piston upgrade

September 10, 2011  One broken doohickey, no other problems.

May 12, 2012  Smaller turnout but a great day

September 15, 2012  Lots of people, lots of bikes, total success, no drama.  Yay!

May 11, 2013  Light turnout but lots of good work got done

September 14, 2013  Good turnout, everything went well.  A rainy ride home for many.

May 3, 2014  LOTS of bikes got worked on, and a perfect day for it.

September 6, 2014  The weather was kinder than predicted, and everything got done.

May 2, 2015  Near perfect weather despite a brief sprinkle

September 19, 2015 A great day; perfect weather, perfect people, (nearly) perfect work.  Yay!

May 14, 2016  Started out a bit bleary, but a typical turnout, lots of good food, lots of work got done.

September 10, 2016  Great weather, fewer attendees but lots of bikes worked on.  One broken doohickey.

May 20, 2017  Snow on the ground in the morning, mostly gone in the afternoon.  Many stayed away, but about a dozen people showed up and some bikes got worked on.  Never had a snowmobile in my driveway before.  Can't say that anymore.

September 9, 2017  Another smaller turnout, but most bikes got worked on. A couple of interesting finds.

May 12, 2018  Twenty or so riders, most with bikes that got worked on.  Weather got good by late morning.

September 8, 2018  A lighter-than-usual day, but several bikes got worked on.  Weather was great (chilly for the early riders).

May 11, 2019  A better turnout, so that was very good to see.  Warmer than expected, and it only drizzled later in the day.
